Learn strategies for safe prescribing of opioids and evidence-based practice and consultation approaches that help prevent, recognise and manage problems arising from opioid prescribing. This event will also showcase a new tool available to all GPs in dealing with opioid dependence.
This one-day course is designed to up-skill the primary care-based workforce in the current assessment and treatment of HCV infection, to enable rapid scale-up of interferon-free therapy with direct acting antivirals (DAAs) for HCV.
Diabetes Foundations provides a strong grounding in essential information about diabetes including pathophysiology, prevention of complications and an overview of management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes including psychological issues. This evening session is Part 1 of the Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Dependence Program. Completion of this module provides participants the opportunity to attend an advanced full day training session accrediting participants to prescribe buprenorphine/naloxone for more than 5 patients or methadone.
This training will provide GPs with the skills and required accreditation to prescribe medication assisted treatment for opioid dependence within the Victorian regulatory framework.
